Welcome
to the Arts Library
The Arts Library is part of the Yale University
Library system and includes at various building locations the Art
and Architecture, Classics and Drama libraries, and the Arts of
the Book collections. The Arts Library
mission
supports the academic and professional programs of the History of
Art and Classics departments and the schools of Art, Architecture,
and Drama, as well as the arts-related needs of the Yale University
community. The Arts Library also welcomes visitors from the New
Haven area and from around the country and the world. We collect
library materials in a variety of formats, including books and journals,
slides and a growing database of digital images, and original source
materials. Among the special collections held by the Arts Library
are those concerned with the arts of the book, the history and design
of bookplates, and the history and development of color theory.
These materials and much more are available to you for research,
study, and discovery. Please visit each of our units' individual
web site for more information on that specific collection.
