Workshop Descriptions
The Yale University Library is committed to offering high-quality instruction sessions for students, staff, and faculty on Library resources and services.

English Major Library Research Sessions (register)
The English Department requires all majors to complete a ninety-minute library research session.

Library Instruction for Historians (register)
The Yale University Library and the Yale history department have created a two-part program to ensure that Yale history majors have the skills to navigate the complex world of print and digital library resources. Participation in the program is mandatory for undergraduate history majors.

Architecture Research Methodologies (register)
The Architecture department requires all majors to complete a ninety-minute introductory research session.

History of Art Graduate Workshops
A series for History of Art graduates students on arts & humanities databases and digital image collections and presentation tools.

Learning in the Science Libraries
Workshops on resources and services for those in the Sciences on a range of topics: keeping current in the Sciences, finding journal articles, locating grant information, and citation tracking.

Medical Library Classes
The Medical Library offers a broad range of library instruction seminars, demonstrations, tours and training sessions on the use of electronic information resources as well other library resources and services.

Refworks, Endnote, & Zotero
Special software can help you to organize your research and easily create footnotes, citations, and formatted bibliographies. Separate workshops on Refworks, Endnote, and Zotero are offered throughout the year.

GIS Workshops
An introduction to ESRI's ArcGIS Geographic Information Systems Software Suite. The workshops are open to all Yale University Community members and we are particularly interested in exposing undergraduate students to spatial analysis using GIS.

Course-Integrated Instruction
The Library works closely with faculty to design Library Research classes tailored to specific courses. We encourage instructors to contact us to schedule a research session to meet the needs of a specific course or student research assignment.
