Can Frederick Friend please answer one simple question: who told 
you that prices charged have to reflect comparative product 
costs? That was not an economist worth her salt. It is uncommon 
for companies to charge less for a product that costs more, and 
more for a product that costs less. The issue for a publisher is 
to maximize profits, not align prices to costs.
