Description:

What should we do with all the digital files we create, save, copy, send, and store as part of the practice of making? This one-hour workshop is part of a week-long series on Artist Studio Archives that focuses on various aspects of managing your studio archives. We will introduce basic concepts to manage your digital files, preserve, and find them for your future self. Topics include file and folder naming best practices and applicable approaches to backing up your digital files for when you apply to that residency or gallery show!

This session is part of a week-long artist studio archives workshop series covering basic concepts and tools for managing your studio archives–the stuff you keep that documents your creative practice and legacy. We invite you to join in one or all the workshops in the series.

Instructor Hilary Wang is a visual artist and the Kress Fellow in Art Librarianship at the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library.
