“The Scarcity of Desire: Sappho’s Encounter with the Modernist Imagination”
Curated by Daniel Zhang ’26

Daniel Zhang is a junior in Branford College studying classics. His interest in Sappho’s reception stemmed from Professor Pauline LeVen’s course Sappho and the Lyric. He enjoys studying theories and critiques of classical reception and comparativism. He hopes to interrogate how we have arrived at our contemporary understanding of the classical tradition. He is from Edison, New Jersey.

“Who Shot the Tiger? Performing Imperialism in India”
Curated by Catherine Kausikan ’25

Catherine Kausikan is a senior studying English and art history. She is excited by museum access, Southeast Asian regionality, and all kinds of cross-cultural objects. She owes her interest in tigers to Professor Jennifer Raab and Paul Messier’s course Material Histories of Photography, the guidance of Brent Bianchi, as well as her introduction to Tippoo’s Tiger by Professor Tim Barringer. She was born and raised in Singapore.
