“Lyric Thinking: Poetry in the World” is the 2022–2023 Model Research Collection. It can be viewed through the year on the Courtyard Level of  Bass Library.

The Model Research Collection is a faculty-curated collection selected and displayed annually to demonstrate to students how a researcher’s process of investigating a particular topic may be expressed through a collection of books and other materials drawn from across Yale Library.  “Lyric Thinking” explores how thinking through and with lyric poems takes place across diverse languages, communities, and spaces throughout the historical record.  See “Lyric Thinking” as an online exhibit.

“Lyric Thinking” has been curated  by Ayesha Ramachandran, chair of the Program in Early Modern Studies and associate professor of Comparative Literature. Display materials for the collection were designed by Monica Ong Read, a visual poet and Yale Library’s senior web and digital designer.
