Ben Parten is a Ph.D. student in history at Yale and a lead researcher with the Yale and Slavery Working Group. His research interests include the histories of race, slavery, abolition, and emancipation. He received his B.A. at the University of Georgia and M.A. from Clemson University.
His Mondays at Beinecke talk will focus on a highlight of research-in-progress about Yale and the time before the Civil War.
