January 31, 2025
Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library
Loria Center for History of Art
190 York Street, New Haven, CT 06511

The Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) was Louis Kahn’s last project and a landmark building for Yale. The exhibition “People Look Up at Good Architecture” examines Kahn’s innovative use of natural light and complex skylight system.

To celebrate the YCBA’s reopening in spring 2025, this exhibition presents photographs, letters, and sketches from Yale’s repositories to illuminate the museum’s history and architectural significance. George Knight, AIA, of Knight Architecture, will speak at the opening event. The exhibition is on view at Haas Family Arts Library from September 9, 2024, to May 11, 2025.

Curated by Jessica Quagliaroli, Archivist, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, and Kathy Winsor Bohlman, Architecture Records Archivist, Haas Arts Library.
