Yale Publications

The Yale University Archives seeks to collect publications created by Yale University and the Yale community. Specific topics of interest include: 

  • Official publications created by Yale schools, departments, and offices in the course of Yale business. 

  • Student publications which document the voices and activities of Yale students. 

Archival Records

Examples of records of interest to the Archives, regardless of format:

  • Professional school student journals (e.g., Perspecta of the School of Architecture and the Yale Law Journal)

  • Yale College student group publications (e.g.  Yale Herald, Yale Economic Review) 

  • Student-created newsletters distributed to members of the residential colleges, graduate school, or professional schools

  • Residential college-sponsored publications

  • Proceedings of symposia and conferences held at Yale or under its auspices

  • Journals and published annual reports of institutes, associations, schools, and other related organizations

  • Academic department or program brochures/pamphlets describing courses to prospective or current students

  • Commencement programs for the residential colleges, the graduate school, and the professional schools

  • Exhibition catalogs from art galleries, museums, and libraries

  • Alumni/ae directories and newsletters to alumni/ae

  • Development newsletters and other publications describing special development activities

  • Faculty, staff and student facebooks for academic departments, schools, and residential colleges 

  • Publications describing services (e.g., Yale Health Newsletter)

  • Press releases not issued through the university’s Office of Public Affairs

  • University committee reports or reviews in areas such as programmatic studies or policy

  • Working papers issued through a Yale institute, academic department or program, or related organization

  • Dedication programs for new buildings, centers, special lectureships, or other significant activities

  • Posters announcing special events or activities
