Admitting non-Yale persons under the age of eighteen to Yale Special Collections Reading Rooms
Policy for admitting non-Yale persons under the age of eighteen to Yale Special Collections Reading Rooms
Yale Special Collections reading rooms are for those persons eighteen years of age or older* conducting research using collection material. Non-Yale persons under the age of eighteen who wish to access collection material should request access by contacting special.collections@yale.edu two weeks prior to the date they wish to visit. They should explain the collection material they wish to use and the projects or class assignments their research will support. Additionally, they should identify the adult who will accompany them into the reading room and remain with them as they conduct their research. Yale Special Collections staff will respond to all such requests for access in a timely manner.
*Or Yale students who are under the age of eighteen.
