For Graduate and Professional Students

We are here to help with your research and learning.

Connect

We can assist with literature searches, identifying relevant databases and other resources, and measuring research impact. Reach out directly to any of our librarian subject specialists. If you are not sure who to contact, request a research consultation and we will connect you to someone who can help.

Discover

Quicksearch is your key tool for finding all the library resources you need. It searches simultaneously across all library collections, including books, articles, electronic resources, databases, datasets, digital collections, and more. We are happy to help you hone your search strategies.

Check out our equipment lending program in Bass Library for short-term loans of laptops, projectors, cameras, and more.

Our libraries hold extraordinary collections of rare, unique, or fragile materials that you can request for hands-on use in designated Special Collections Reading Rooms. These materials include rare books, manuscripts, archives, maps, photos, prints and drawings, recordings, digital content, and much more. Learn about using Special Collections.

Learn

We offer workshops, resources, and consultations on technical and policy aspects of research. We can support your projects throughout the research lifecycle, from writing data management plans and selecting a research data repository, to navigating open access publishing, using copyright materials, and using AI tools. Learn more.

Study

We offer a variety of spaces for quiet and group study, meetings, classes, and presentations. At Marx Library, your options include the 24-hour Young Family Study. At Sterling Memorial Library, the Graduate Study Room (SML 226) is a dedicated space for grad and professional students. Visit our 12 libraries and locations and check out all the places to study.

Work

Yale Library is one of the university’s largest student employers. Job opportunities include paid positions for graduate students in digital humanities, statistics, and geospatial science. In this way, you can help us deliver outstanding research support to the Yale community. Students also work in many other areas of the library including digital imaging services, curatorial work, collections maintenance, social media, and more.
