A newly created 35mm print of Losing Ground, the 1982 masterwork of pioneering Black filmmaker Kathleen Collins, will be screened on Friday, Nov. 11, and followed by a Q&A with actress Seret Scott, who starred in the film alongside Bill Gunn.

Nzingha Kendall, assistant professor of Film at Pace University and a leading expert on the work of Kathleen Collins, will introduce the film and lead a Q&A with Seret Scott following the screening.

The 35mm print was created as part of a larger preservation project begun last year by the Yale Film Archive and the Film Foundation, with funding provided by the Hobson/Lucas Family Foundation. It will be screened in Room L02 of the Humanities Quadrangle at 320 York Street as part of the Treasures from the Yale Film Archive series.
