Online events and video illuminate Islamic manuscripts collection and exhibition
Each of the three co-curators of “Taught by the Pen: The World of Islamic Manuscripts” a new exhibition at the Beinecke Library, will present an online talk this spring as part of the library’s Mondays at Beinecke series.
Yale Library’s collection of manuscripts produced in the Islamic world is among the largest and oldest in the United States. “Taught by the Pen” features 150 items from the 9th to the 19th centuries. The exhibition celebrates Islamic civilization and its interconnected artistic, religious, and scholarly traditions.
