Sandra Enimil: Program Director for Scholarly Communications and Information Policy

Sandra Aya Enimil (she/her) is the Program Director for Scholarly Communication and Information Policy at Yale University Library and chair of the ACRL Research and the Scholarly Environment Committee. Sandra contributes to advancing openness by providing strategic insight, information, and resources on scholarly communication and open scholarship.

She also consults with Yale researchers on using copyrighted materials and assists creators in protecting their own copyright. As the License Review Steering Committee chair, she provides input on licenses of all types for the library. 
 

Sandra is deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and is interested in the intersection of DEI and intellectual property. Sandra has been praised for her collaborative approach with individuals and departments within the library, across campus, and beyond. Her expertise has been widely recognized through her numerous presentations on different aspects of copyright and scholarly communication. Recently, Sandra was featured on NRP’s “The Indicator” podcast episode “The surprising economics of digital lending” and discussed her blog from Harvard’s celebration of Fair Use Week on the University of Illinois’ “Copyright Chat” podcast 
 

Sandra earned her Law and Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an Master of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of Ghana, and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Michigan. Prior to this role, she was the Copyright Services Librarian at Ohio State University Libraries.
