Sept. 2025: Library adds new electronic resources to support research at Yale across many disciplines
Beyond millions of physical books and storied special collections, the vast majority of research resources used by Yale faculty, staff, and students are digital and accessed online. Yale Library provides these e-resources to the Yale community via databases, datasets, reference works, scholarly journals and other digital resources.* Throughout the year, new e-resources are trialed and added. Faculty, staff, and students may request new e-resources for consideration. Here is a representative sampling of recently acquired e-resources:
Africa Intelligence and Intelligence Online
Electronic news services that provide specialized reporting and analysis. “Africa Intelligence” offers access to five newsletters: West Africa Newsletter, Indian Ocean Newsletter, Maghreb Confidential, Africa Energy Intelligence, and Africa Mining Intelligence and features an interactive map that allows users to browse news by country. “Intelligence Online” covers global intelligence, security, and defense, with reporting on government agencies, corporate strategies, cyber issues, and political networks.
A digital collection of ethnographic primary sources, including field notes, manuscripts, films, and audio recordings documenting cultures worldwide. It includes sub-collections such as “Anthropological Fieldwork Online,” “Ethnographic Video Online,” and “Ethnographic Sound Archives Online.”
Art & Architecture Archive Collection 2
The collection expands upon the original collection by adding twenty-one additional trade and consumer publications, totaling over 850,000 pages of searchable, full-color images. This second collection includes international titles such as “Goya,” “Popular Photography,” “Building Design,” “ID,” and “Preservation,” many of which are available digitally for the first time.
Bloomsbury Dress and Costume Library
This is a collection of scholarly resources on the history, design, and production of dress and costume. It includes reference works, eBooks, and visual content, supporting research and teaching in dress history, costume studies, and costume design.
Encyclopedia of Green Chemistry
This is a comprehensive electronic reference work covering the principles, practices, and emerging technologies of sustainable chemistry. It includes contributions from experts in the field on topics such as catalysis, green solvents, life-cycle assessment, and biomass utilization.
This is a digital primary source archive of news sources documenting the Hispanic American experience from 1704 to the present. Drawing from over 17,000 global news sources, including more than 700 Spanish-language or bilingual publications, it provides insights into the cultural, political, and social contributions of Hispanic Americans.
Rolling Stone Magazine Archive
The complete backfile of “Rolling Stone” magazine, spanning from its inception in 1967 to the present. This archive includes full-color, searchable issues featuring articles, interviews, reviews, advertisements, and photographs, offering valuable insights into music, politics, and popular culture over the past five decades.
A collection of over 6,000 international case studies covering a wide range of business disciplines such as entrepreneurship, accounting, human resource management, and marketing. It includes both original cases from Sage and cases from academic content partners such as Yale School of Management, Kellogg School of Management, and the University of California at Berkeley. The platform features multimedia resources such as videos, data sets, and audio clips, alongside traditional text.
An online publication helping readers navigate global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) regulations, frameworks, and policies affecting business and finance. It features news, analysis, and trends in sustainable finance, including the ESG Policy Tracker, which provides insights on policy changes, deadlines, and guidance. Users must complete an online form to gain access to the resource.
Women and Social Movements: Development and the Global South (1919-2019)
A digital collection that documents women’s economic participation and activism in the Global South over a century. The collection includes reports, correspondence, newsletters, photographs, and scholarly essays, providing a comprehensive view of women’s roles in social and economic change.
