The World in Maps, 1400–1600, a new exhibition at Yale’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library, presents a selection of the most impressive and historically important maps in the library’s collection from the late Medieval and Early Modern periods.

Rebecca Wessel ’24 spent her summer as Marx Library’s climate change technologies fellow. After completing three data-driven, interactive projects—two of her own design—Wessel came away with critical new skills in her field and plenty of potential topics for her senior thesis.

Film Archive receives grant to preserve second film by pioneering Black director Kathleen Collins

The National Film Preservation Foundation grant will help preserve Collins’s short film, The Cruz Brothers and Miss Malloy. The archive is also preserving the director’s only feature film, Losing Ground .

Undergraduates explore Yale Library’s collection of great scientific works

In Memoriam: Chief Research Archivist Judith Schiff, 1937–2022

Over more than 60 years, Schiff guided countless students and scholars through the library’s archival collections. Funeral services will be held at Grove Street Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, July 15. The Manuscripts and Archives Reading Room will delay opening until 1:30 pm on July 15.
