Brian Meacham
Brian Meacham is the Managing Archivist at the Yale Film Archive, where he oversees acquisition, inspection, cataloging, and preservation of the Archive’s film collection, which includes print and pre-print elements acquired by the university over the last 50 years. He also co-programs the ongoing Treasures from the Yale Film Archive screening series. Before coming to Yale, Brian was Short Film Preservationist at the Academy Film Archive in Los Angeles, and prior to that, Archive Coordinator at the Harvard Film Archive.
Brian received his Masters of Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archives Management from Simmons College and a Certificate in Film Preservation from the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York. He currently serves as member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Film Archives representing Associate affiliates, and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Moving Image Archivists. He teaches a course on the film archive in the Yale Film & Media Studies graduate program, and has published in the Journal of Film Preservation, Film Quarterly, and The Moving Image.
