About

Julie Graves Krishnaswami is the Head of Instruction at the Lillian Goldman Law Library at Yale Law School. She teaches Advanced Legal Research (ALR) and Regulatory Research Methods. She also serves as a Small Group Legal Research Advisor. Her own research currently focuses on integrating critical thinking methodology into legal research instruction. Julie is an active member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL).

Before coming to Yale Law School, Julie was a Lawyer Librarian at Vermont Law School and an Associate Law Library Professor at the City University of New York School of Law. As an attorney at the law firm of Lite DePalma & Greenberg, LLC, she worked as a litigator handling class action and appellate litigation, including several nationwide securities and anti-trust class actions. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for the Honorable Susan L. Reisner of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. Additionally, she represented public benefit recipients in administrative hearings before the New York City Department of Human Resources Administration. She has also worked for Planned Parenthood Federation of American (PPFA) in Washington, D.C., tracking and researching state legislation on abortion and women’s health issues in the public policy/litigation and law department.

Background

Julie received her Masters in Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) from Pratt Institute (2008). She earned her J.D. from CUNY School of Law (2004), where she was the Symposium and Articles Editor for The New York City Law Review, and her B.A. in history from Reed College (1999).
