Sterling Memorial Library
Inside Yale’s central library
Sterling Library is home to unique and beautiful reading rooms, the office of the University Librarian, a seven-story tower with 16 floors of books, several smaller libraries and special collections, and many programs for students and faculty. Opened in 1931, Sterling is a masterpiece of Collegiate Gothic Revival architecture. Visitors are welcome to the cathedral-like nave and exhibition galleries.
