Each year, the Lohmann and Van Sinderen Prizes for Excellence in Undergraduate Printing and Design are awarded to recognize student creativity and skill in graphic design and printing. Winners receive up to $500.

Eligible submissions include print publications, ephemera, websites, and mobile apps.  The work must have been planned and executed in the past academic year by a current Yale undergraduate. Yale classwork in graphic design or letterpress printing is also eligible.

The deadline for submission is Tues., April 30, at 12 p.m. Students may submit multiple entries, with separate submission forms.

The Lohmann and Van Sinderen Prizes were established in 1967 in honor of Carl C. Lohmann ’10, a founding member of the company of college printers, a lifelong typophile, and secretary of the university from 1927 to 1953. Since 2015, the Adrian Van Sinderen Book Collecting Prize fund has supported the awards.
