The library’s annual ice cream social enticed staff members to step out of their offices into a clear and sunny August day. Vendor Matt Zajac parked his Blue Chip Creamery’s “rolling scoop shop” on York Street and Alexander Walk in early afternoon and later in a shady spot by the picnic tables at 344 Winchester. Eager customers had their pick of a selection of cool treats, including Blue Chip Creamery’s signature Cookie Monster ice-cream sandwiches and cups-to-go of assorted ice cream flavors. Judging from the smiling faces, a good time was had by all—a great way to start the new academic year.
