Since 1998, the Yale Library Shelving Facility (LSF) has enabled the library’s collection to grow exponentially while still ensuring that users have access to the resources they need.
Gary Burcheski, manager of Library Collection Services, reports that in those 25 years, LSF staff have successfully fulfilled the more than 1.82 million requests for materials that the facility has received. “No unmet requests have been reported,” he added.
This November, staff, family, and friends gathered to celebrate LSF’s excellent record, efficient work methods, commitment to service, and safe storage of its more than 8.5 million items now on site.
